You MUST create the 2D/3D/character/creature/image/border/description etc yourself!!

you cant simply copy an image/idea from a game/online etc as that is someone else's work and entering someone else's work in an art competition is not very creative

Lancer: S in Sweden fixed

That was just a joke, he created a fake entry for fun about "me" using my avatar and a description of me

you can also create a 2D drawing if you want, it doesn't have to be 3D!! Just thought I'd make that clear...

I prefer 2D when it comes to making profiles like this, unless you made the frame, the text and exactly everything in 3D not touching the render in any image editing app at all, pure 3D, that would be kickass if it was VERY well made, it has to be very well made as it's easy to make it look crap.

Here's what I'm working on at the moment, I thought I'd try the 'rustic' appraoch.
It's more or less finished just some touching up to do so this could be my final entry...maybe I'll do just one more.

Is this a complement...if so thanks but it's not necessarily so...

Psi wrote on page 1...
And as usual it will be judged on effort/ideas/having a go and not entirely on your 2D/3D skills

This stuff isn't that difficult.
My main machine with all my texture files is sick so I had to use my VERY old PC and an old version of Photoshop.
All I did was to use the PS basic tools, pattern overlays, texture filters, bevel and emboss, drop shadow, and outer glow styles.

For the frame I just ran the Lines texture then applied a new adjustement Levels layer and bumped up the contrast. Then applied a bevel and emboss and drop shadow using the layer styles.

The metal fancy work around the image and on the framing was done with one of the calligraphy brushes on another layer, again with a bevel and emboss and slight drop shadow style applied to the layer.

The text background used the Render Clouds then Render different clouds a couple of times. next one of the artistic patterns was applied with it's opacity turned down just to blend it in.

The text has the Outer Glow style applied, again with the opacity turned down.

You will see...but please don't make the deadline even further away, there is PLENTY of time as it is.

Make it as late as you like, I am still learning to use PhotoShop

Here is my attempt so far, I will be doing a 2D image as my Blender 3D skills stop at cubes and spheres..

Image

I figure I have no chance so might as well put it up and get some tips on how to improve (other than to go and get an Arts degree :P )
